On Your Mark...Get Set...Go!

Today was the annual Hershey Track Meet for 6th grade in Spanish Fork. As the name suggests, the finals take place in Hershey, Penn., you just have to qualify with your school district, then the region, then state, etc. We've been training and practicing for this day for a couple of months now. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the time we've been using for practice now that the meet is over, maybe we'll still go out and run a bit. Of course this event took place on the hottest day of the year so far, we're just glad it was partly cloudy today so we didn't get as hot as we could have.

Along with the annual track meet comes the annual weird sunburn. Somehow, every year, I manage to sit in just the right way or apply my sunblock in not quite the right way to end up with an interesting sunburn. My first year was white stripes down my arm. Another year was a burned stripe across the top of my knee and a circular burn on one of my ankles. Sorry Laura, there is no weird burn this year, at least I haven't found one yet. I was slightly worried when I realized that I put sunblock everywhere except the front of my neck...I remember being very careful to put sunblock on the back of my neck since my short hair doesn't protect my neck very well, but in doing that, I forgot the front. No worries, it didn't burn!

bummer... those are always fun. I got a weird sunburn on my shoulder when we went to the beach last month. I was lazy and only put sunblock in a small circular area, so I had a white circle and tan all around it! This was the first day, so the next 4 days of swimsuits looked pretty funny. It made me think of you :)
