Cruise Day 6

I know I've been home from this trip for over a month now, but I just haven't sat down to finish the story yet...

Day 6 found us on an island called Roatan just off of Honduras.  We didn't have any excursions planned for this day and we were excited to have a pretty chill day doing nothing but sit on a beach and that's pretty much what we did.

Since we didn't have to be anywhere at any particular time, we took our time.  We slept in, after all this was a vacation and we hadn't done much sleeping in yet.  After breakfast and a few photos of the view from the ship, we went ashore.

The humidity was pretty crazy and kept fogging up the camera.

We wandered a bit since we went in any sort of hurry.  We perused the small shops in the area and noticed the restaurants/bars from a distance.  Carnival had this port and beach area built just for them.

After about an hour or so, we decided to start heading back to the ship (that and Julie was getting hungry).  We found a nice little nature trail with a quaint bench and overlook area, it was a nice respite from the sun for a brief moment.

Once back on the ship, we enjoyed a couple of calzones from the 24 hour pizzeria onboard as the lines were short due to everyone being on shore.  Colette also took advantage of the short line at the water slide.  It was a bit disappointing as it wasn't very fast.  Afterwards, we took showers, read a bit, and took naps.  Dinner that night was elegant night again so we dressed up before going down to the comedy club for the ventriloquist show.  At dinner, we were joined by a mother and daughter from West Virginia celebrating the daughter's high school graduation, a couple from Michigan, and two sisters from Florida.  We had a lovely meal and nice conversation.

After dinner, we wanted to go outside and enjoy the view, but it was way too windy.  After coming in, we noticed signs by all of the other doors telling us not to go outside due to high winds.  The show that night was Mardi Gras themed, it was better than the first night's show.

After the show, we were very disappointed as there was no towel critter on the bed.  As we were both expressing our disappointment, we looked up and saw this guy hanging from the lights.  He was definitely our favorite towel critter from the cruise, we should have named him something awesome like Gregorio or something, but alas, we did not.
